CHARITABLE PARTNERSHIPS
At Szio+, we believe healthcare is a right, not a privilege. That’s why giving back to our community is part of the Szio+ mission. We have committed to donating a portion of our profits to charitable organizations that share our values. Each year we choose a different organization to donate to. Here are some of the organizations we have supported.
ESSENTIALS FIRST
Szio+ is proud to partner with Essentials First, an organization that has been providing hygiene and warmth kits to several populations including those experiencing homelessness, low-income households at risk of homelessness by working with dozens of community providers who serve them. To date, our team has put together hundreds of essentials kits that have been distributed to a growing number of people unable to afford these products.
In 2020, the pandemic exposed an alarming gap of access to hygiene support, especially among low-income households and those experiencing financial instability. Essentials First works towards establishing the necessary relationships to procure millions of hygiene items in bulk to be distributed through a network of food banks and nonprofits.
SAVING MOTHERS
Saving Mothers is an organization dedicated to eradicating preventable maternal deaths and birth-related complications in the developing world. It is our firm belief that most of these deaths are due to lack of access to basic reproductive care, and that this lack of access is a human rights violation on a grand scale. At Saving Mothers, we believe that all women are entitled to quality reproductive care, and that their lives, their children’s lives, and the basic fabric of society depends on this.
Founded and run by medical professionals, our approach to this issue centers on educating and empowering women so they can become active participants in decision-making regarding their sexual and reproductive health. We also educate and train local healthcare providers to ensure that women in low-resource areas have access to the quality of care they deserve.
CANADIAN WOMENS FOUNDATION
The Canadian Women’s Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on helping women and girls. It aims to end violence against women, move low-income women out of poverty, and empower girls. It is the only national womens foundation in Canada.
Since 1991, it has invested over $40 million in charitable support to over 1,200 community programs and womens shelters across Canada. It focuses on critical challenges facing diverse women, girls, and two spirit, trans, and non-binary people all over Canada today. They make effective long-term change for gender equality and justice possible.
BRIGHTPINK
Bright Pink is an organization that is shifting the cancer paradigm from awareness to action to ensure all women can live brighter, healthier lives no matter their circumstances.
They focus on health, not cancer, to inspire women to practice breast and ovarian cancer prevention. Their innovative programs, strategic initiatives and powerful partnerships directly reach women in their daily lives and healthcare providers in their daily practice.
We strive to empower people to better manage their own health.
